Creating opportunities for students to share their talents with the community, such as performances outside
the educational environment, which are important to the overall development of an artistic training progam.

The Wizard of Oz Dixon High School, in cooperation with Dixon’s Viva! Performing Arts School, presents The Wizard of Oz, DHS's annual spring production, directed by Karen Morrison, with Tim Boles as assistant director. The munchkin chorus appears under the direction of Rob Campbell, and choreography is by Jacob Wallingford, a dancer from Chicago. The cast includes junior Mabel Seto as Dorothy, junior Alejandro Valdes as the Lion, junior Benjamin Thornton as the Tin Man, junior Peter Balser as the Scarecrow, senior Chantelle Chamberlain as the Wicked Witch of the West, senior Tyler Robins as the great and powerful Wizard of Oz, and 43 elementary school students, ages 5 to 13, to be the Munchkins.
